Indian Motorcycle Sprocket Cover

An Indian Motorcycle enthusiast contracted me to engineer his design vision of incorporating the Indian Motorcycle logo into the sprocket cover of his motorcycle.

After a few iterations of design intention meeting engineering function, we arrived at a happy medium and we were ready to print a 3D prototype. This is what a design engineer does.

The sprocket cover prototype was installed on the motorcycle to make sure there was proper fitment before the final part was fabricated and finished.

"The final print was produced using PET-CF, a 3D printing filament composed of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and carbon fiber. This material is designed for manufacturing strong, heat-resistant components suitable for high-temperature and high-humidity environments. The paint topcoat applied is engine enamel, which offers both high-temperature resistance and chemical durability."
